Voices of Change Fellowship
June 8, 2026

The experiences of students and educators are constantly changing and evolving. At ISTE+ASCD, we believe it is critical to hear stories of education directly from educators living through these experiences each day.
For this reason, in 2021, we launched the Voices of Change Fellowship to highlight educator voices from across the country, featuring first-person essays from educators and school leaders who are tackling timely and relevant challenges with real solutions. Above all, we set out to give educators an opportunity to reflect, share, learn, and amplify their voices, perspectives, and experiences.
This year, we are particularly interested in hearing how educators and students are navigating an era of rapid change with the rise of AI and technology in curriculum, instructional practice, and student engagement.
The 2026-27 Voices of Change Fellows will have the opportunity to focus on essays and solution-oriented stories about AI and technology experiences in the classroom.
Stories from the Voices of Change Fellows may be published on the EdSurge site, the ISTE+ASCD Blog, and our EdSurge and ISTE+ASCD social media channels.
Below, learn more about our current fellows and alumni and how to apply to become a 2026-27 Voices of Change Fellow.

Five-Year Anniversary Alumni Reflection Series
This five-year reflection series celebrates the voices and insights of alumni from the Voices of Change Writing Fellowship, highlighting essays and perspectives that have shaped conversations about teaching, learning and educational equity since the program’s launch in 2021. Across cohorts, fellows will share first-person stories that illuminate real-world challenges and solutions in schools, offering lived experiences that inform practice, inspire innovation and amplify educator voice. This retrospective series revisits those contributions to reflect on progress, lessons learned and the evolving landscape of education.
Current Fellows
Our 2026-27 Voices of Change writing fellows — our sixth annual cohort — represent a wide range of experiences, backgrounds, identities and perspectives. Over the course of the program, our fellowship editors work with fellows to take their stories from pitch to publication and elevate their voices about the issues that matter most to them.
These fellows were selected through a competitive application process. During the fellowship, they will be exploring issues in education at the intersection of AI and technology — and publishing first-person essays about their lived experiences.
Our current cohort of fellows includes six talented educators and school leaders teaching at public, charter and independent schools across the country.
