MAKE ME BETTER: BetterU Education Corp., an Ottawa, Ontario-based provider of online education services in India that include K-12 programs, job skill enhancements and a job portal, has raised 500,000 Canadian dollars (about USD $380,000) through a private placement, meaning the company sold securities to a small number of institutional or individual investors.

The company did this to build working capital for “revenue generation and closing of investments currently in the pipeline,” according to a statement earlier this month.

Founded in 2013, betterU claims to offer 12,000 courses for all age groups, careers and industries.
